Fresh Water Fishing:
Ward Lake recreation area, 4.5 miles north of the ferry terminal on North Tongass Highway. The recreation area has a picnic area and rain shelter, hiking trails, a number of fishing streams and lakes and a one-mile interpretive trail around the lake (easy walk). Fishing in nearby Ward Creek, as well as three other lakes—Perseverance, Connell and Talbot. Species of fish include Rainbow, Cutthroat, Dolly Varden and Brook Trout, March-June; Steelhead, Silver and Pink Salmon, August-September. Perseverance Lake Trail (2.5 miles) leads to Perseverance Lake. Last Chance Campground (2.9 miles). Connell Lake Road (3 miles) leads .5 mile to Connell Lake and Ward Creek Trail. Harriet-Hunt Road (7.3 miles leads 2.5 miles) to Harriet-Hunt Lake and skiing area. This scenic lake yields rainbow trout to 20 inches, May-November.

Shoreline Fishing: Anchor Inn by the Sea is located in one of the best areas in Ketchikan for shoreline fishing. We are only a short walk to Mountain Point. Many of the locals enjoy fishing from the rocks in this area. Salmon, Rock Cod and even Halibut have been caught along the shore. We are also a 5 minute drive from Herring Cove.
